Hi, we’re Allison & Janelle.

Commonwealth Public House began with a simple belief: people need more places to connect.

In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, we are drawn to the slower things: shared meals, good conversation, neighborhood wanderings, and the joy of being in community together. We believe hospitality has the power to transform ordinary moments into memorable ones, and that something as simple as a handcrafted drink can spark a surprising amount of delight.

Today, we bring elevated non-alcoholic beverages to markets, weddings, private celebrations, community events, and gatherings of all kinds. Through these handcrafted mocktails, our goal is to offer something welcoming and memorable for every guest we meet.

But Lantern Waste Gatherings is about more than beverages.

Our long-term dream is to create places and experiences that help strengthen community—from mobile beverage service and public events to future hospitality ventures that invite people to slow down, pull up a chair, and stay awhile. We envision gathering spaces that feel warm, welcoming, and deeply rooted in the places they serve.

Oh, and were you wondering about our weirdo name? You’re not alone! In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Lantern Waste is the place where Lucy first steps into Narnia. It’s a snowy clearing with a single glowing lamp post. It’s a threshold space where the mundane gives way to wonder and the magic truly begins.

In many ways, that’s what we hope this whole thing becomes. Whether we're serving drinks at a market, celebrating with you on a special day, or dreaming about what comes next, our mission remains the same: to help create places where people can feel known, connected, and a part of something beautiful.

Drop us a line any time. We’d love to chat.

Warmly,
Allison & Janelle
